  • Diamond Cutters Limited is the largest diamond cutting and polishing organization in Sri Lanka, boasting of diamond artisans to the tune of 1500. Being a BOI registered entity, Diamond Cutters a subsidiary of the NIRU GROUP which is an Indian Company and has been operational in Sri Lanka for the past 35 years.

    Human Capital is considered the most valued asset of the NIRU GROUP, and the organization has a various initiatives rolled out all around the year to ensure all employees and all members of the society are valued, appreciated and taken care of at all times for the valuable contribution they have extended towards the growth of the organization. These initiatives range from educational support, knowledge enhancement, social enhancement.

    Supporting employees in their time of need has also been a vital aspect of NIRU Group, whereby Human capital is immensely valued. Over the past year, the group has played a leading role on relief initiatives, considering the present economic conditions faced by all. As part of this aspect, on the 3rd of June, 2022 Diamond Cutters Ltd distributed dry ration packs comprising of basic essentials such as rice, dhal, cooking oil, tea, wheat flour, sugar amongst other things as well, which will benefit a total number of 1250 families.

    The Board of Directors have once again decided to extend its helping hand for the members of the society, while many more relief programs are also scheduled to be rolled out in the near future as well.

    The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Sanjay Baid (Managing Director – Diamond Cutters Limited) along with Mr. R. D Samaranayaka (Finance Director) and Moin Soomar (General Manager) and the rest of the management team of Diamond Cutters Limited

 

  • DIAMOND CUTTERS LTD DISTRIBUTED FREE DRY RATION PACKS TO ALL IT’S EMPLOYEE 

 

  • Supporting employees in their time of need has been a vital aspect of NIRU Group. Over the past years, the group has played a leading role on relief initiatives.On 07.04.2022, Diamond Cutters Ltd distributed dry ration packs benefitting a total number of 1150 Employees. Our staff tirelessly worked on sorting and packing of these food packs which finally brought this initiative to success. In a situation where people are facing a massive economic hardships in Sri Lanka, Board of Directors have once again decided to extend its help hand for their employees, while many more relief programs are in effect. The management is confident that it will indeed be a happy package for their family for the upcoming Sinhala & Tamil New year season.The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Ranjeet Barmecha (Chairman of NIRU GROUP) along with Mr. Sanjay Baid (Managing Director – Diamond Cutters Limited) and the rest of the management team of Diamond Cutters Limited.

       
       
       
       
  • Annual Stationery Doanation SOS villages 

    We fulfilled the annual stationery requirements of the Children at all the SOS villages situated across Sri Lanka as it’s been done for the past 4 years. The donation of the required stationeries for the new academic year 2022 was held at a small ceremony organized by the SOS children’s Village, Piliyandala. Taking into consideration of the current economic crisis of the country, Mothers of each house at the Piliyandala village were also distributed with food pack which contained dry rations and nutritional needs for the benefit of their family members.

  • Indian CEO Forum - Sri Lanka (ICF)”  Blood Donation

    As per the information received from the “Indian CEO Forum - Sri Lanka (ICF)” on the Blood donation camp organized by them on 11/03/2022 at Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center, Colombo 07, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka India Society, Association of Colombo Indians and in association with the High commission of India in Sri Lanka. We were privileged with the opportunity for our employees to voluntarily contribute to this event. Employees from our HR Dept, Finance Dept & Production departments keenly participated in this noble cause.

    Complementing the theme of Education support for all within the NIRU CARE framework, Diamond Cutters Ltd distributed Samsung Tabs for the Children of its employees who scored highest marks at the year- end academic examination 2021, while Data packages were distributed for rest of the Children in order to facilitate their online education needs. This would be a benefit for them, as many children are lack of electronic devices and with very limited access to internet facility.  

    This occasion was held at the Annual stationery distribution which was held at the organization.

     
  • Help extended to the society during the COVID 19 pandemic of Sri Lanka

 

 

         NIRU CARE is a global CSR initiative of the NIRU group, which focuses on enhancing educational support for underprivileged children and has been catering to a large number of children in Sri Lanka for the past 4 years. Considering the calamity of the third wave of COVID-19, we as a company have decided to support the immense service of the medical professionals of Sri Lanka and the fabulous efforts by the government of Sri Lanka by donating a PCR machine, which hopefully would strengthen the efforts and eventually be able to save the valuable lives of our citizens.

 

The below picture shows the occasion of handing over the PCR machine to the Honorable Prime Minister of Sri Lanka at Temple tree on 07/06/2021 by the Managing Director, Mr Sanjay Baid of Diamond Cutters Ltd.

  

 
 

 

Director, Mr Sambhav Baid and the Finance Director, Mr Rajendra Samaranayake were also part of this delightful event.

Donated 05 Oxygen Concentrators to Base Hospitals High Dependency Units of Horana, Panadura and Kalutara in order to give better medical care for the critically ill COVID 19 patients.

During the 3rd wave of COVID 19 pandemic, extended our support to the Panadura base hospital by donating some quantities of essential items, such as surgical face masks, Electric kettles, Steamers and packs of Biscuits for it’s staff.

As per the request made by the MOH Office Panadura, we donated a Chest Freezer to them, since the current capacity which they’ve to store COVID 19 vaccines is not enough.

  • Flood relief items donated to Army to distribute flood effected area

    In 2010 massive disaster occurred due to heavy rain. Many areas were flooded and people lost their houses.
    Sri Lanka Army organized a campaign to relief those who faced to disaster to be provided with the possible donations. We Diamond Cutters Ltd also contributed to this event by donating food items.

  • Rail gate at Panadura Railway Station

    The Panadura railway crossing was reported by the Medias about the danger of the fatal issue of this unprotected crossing point in several occasions. Our 5S team got together & took necessary measures to install a gate for public.

  • Organized a blood donation camp..

    Wiith corporation of the National Blood Bank, at our factory premises in last 2012, which was an open event to volunteer employees & their relatives to make this event success.
